About the Project
Hardcase Pro V2
Hardcase Pro is a prominent electronics sub-brand under the Energizer company. This line embodies the rugged reliability associated with the Hardcase concept. To ensure durability, weather-resistant materials were predominantly chosen for this collection, alongside high-performance solid components. Additionally, a custom packaging design was crafted to effectively convey the essence of the Hardcase Pro brand.

Initial Concept
As part of our project, we developed six essential products catering to diverse charging needs. Our lineup includes a portable power battery for on-the-go charging, a dual USB car charger for simultaneous charging during commutes, and a triple USB car charger for expanded charging capabilities. Additionally, we offer three distinct cables designed for optimal charging speed and seamless data transfer across various devices. Each product embodies our commitment to innovation, reliability, and user convenience, ensuring you stay powered up and connected wherever you go.
The product design details for this line are thoroughly outlined in a separate case study HERE . Following the finalization and prototype approval of our models, the next phase involved meticulous package planning. Our packaging needed to effectively showcase each product while upholding the rugged Hardcase image synonymous with Energizer’s product line.

Visual Identity
For the imagery, I utilized the same visuals as those employed by Energizer across their entire Hardcase line. This approach aligns with the company’s customized branding strategy, ensuring consistent visual identity across all products.
While electronic product imagery is subject to regular updates to stay current, certain products, such as batteries, may maintain their iconic design over time. This enduring visual consistency helps reinforce brand recognition and fosters consumer trust in the product’s reliability and performance.
Color:
While each package adheres to Energizer’s color scheme of orange and black, three additional colors were introduced to distinguish the functionality of each product. For instance, green denotes compatibility with Apple devices, while red is exclusively reserved for micro USB devices. This addition serves as a distinct feature, enhancing the differentiation between product functionalities.
Iconography:
I developed a custom icon system, featuring four icons prominently displayed on each package. Each icon highlights a key feature of the product. To ensure optimal readability, we utilized a yellow-on-black color scheme, providing enhanced contrast for easy identification.

Visual Design
The front side of the package prominently features the product along with specific icons indicating its key features and compatibility with various devices, distinguished by color codes. Our collection boasts a robust package design, featuring a sturdy construction. The primary design consists of a hexagonal foldable cover printed with the main artwork, complemented by two custom molded plastic holders—one for each side of the package. These custom mold supports serve two crucial purposes: maintaining the hexagonal structure and shape of the package, and most importantly, safeguarding the product. Engineered with durability in mind, these base supports are crafted from easily recyclable PVC material, ensuring resilience against drops or impacts.
The back of the package features a window that reveals the inner blister mold utilized to secure the product in place, along with corporate information and a barcode. Every graphic and detail in this project was carefully selected with innovation in mind to align seamlessly with Energizer’s vision.
