About the Project

Digital Sculpting

This personal digital sculpting project was created in 2019 as part of my exploration and study of Blender, a powerful digital tool for 3D modeling and sculpting. The character depicted is based on one of the well-known characters from the Dragon Ball Z series created by Akira Toriyama.

Initial Concept

As a passionate admirer of manga and anime art, particularly the beloved Dragon Ball series, I’ve always found inspiration in its rich universe. Since its inception, this series has captivated artists and designers worldwide, becoming an iconic cultural phenomenon. In a humble tribute to its influence, I embarked on creating this digital sculpture, drawing reference from one of my favorite characters within the saga.

Final Visualization

This digital sculpture was quite a feat, especially for us digital artists who understand the intricacies involved in capturing the essence of human (or alien) musculature. While it was an enjoyable process overall, I must admit that sculpting those muscles to perfection was no easy task! Despite the seemingly straightforward design, achieving the right level of detail in the muscles required quite a bit of skill and dedication

Creative Process

I began by outlining the primary forms, gradually merging them into a dense mesh and incorporating intricate modeling details. Once this stage was complete, my focus shifted to refining the topology and generating a low-density base mesh. This simplified base serves as a foundation for character posing or animation purposes.
